Yoga
Everyone enjoyed Yoga today with one of our moms, Paulina. It was lovely just to chill and relax and unwind the minds and bodies. A big Thank You Paulina!!!
Active Learning Outdoors
We make use of the nearby green areas, forest and the school field for active learning. This year we explored the local nearby green areas searching for mini-beasts and other creatures. We partner with The Local Heritage Council for these workshops.
Cumann na mBunscoil Football
The boys and girls from 4th and 6th participated in the Cumann na mBunscoil football competition with two other neighbouring schools. They put the skills they learn and develop each week with the local GAA coach, John, to the test. Parents from the class also volunteer at matches to support the children and provide their own knowledge and skills about football.
Badminton
Children from 4th and 6th participated in a Badminton blitz as part of the Kerry Badminton Primary Schools competition. This gave children the opportunity to practice their badminton skills against other schools.
The Patrick Curtin Annual Memorial Tournament
There was great excitement at the Patrick Curtin Memorial Tournament at Moyvane G.A.A. pitch recently where the yellow bibs took on the red bibs. Both teams showed great grit, determination and skill with the yellow bibs taking the title on the day! Patrick was a fantastic player for Moyvane and Kerrry. He is a role model for all our children and we keep his memory alive through this annual tournament.
A huge thank you to Patrick’s family who attended the tournament and presented the trophy and medals to the winners. We would also like to acknowledge and thank Vincent Murphy, Castleisland who sponsored the medals. Thanks to referee/teacher Mr. McMahon, Mrs. Curtin and all involved in organising this annual tournament.
