Scratch Coding – 2nd Class mentor our Junior & Seniors

Today our wonderful 2nd class came down to mentor our Juniors and Seniors in Scratch Junior.

This is a coding programme that helps with mathematical and oral language. It helps create characters in different settings that move and even speak!

Not forgetting, it’s great fun!!!

First Day at School!

We are delighted to welcome our Junior Infants class of 2024. What a special day the first day of school is – here are our newest little superstars:

The Arts STE”A”M

4th and 6th Class, in connection with our Creative Cluster, discussed The Arts STE”A”M in great detail. The children created their own set for a Lego character, filmed a music video on the Lego Vidiyo app and had an introduction to costume design and special effects.  They researched dramatic stage make up and prosthetics and created an amazing Lego stage – Lego The Boombox!

Christmas Activities

We had a Fun Day at school getting ready for Christmas! Children were divided into 4 teams with a mix of children from each room. They rotated around our 4 classrooms enjoying Christmas activities. All enjoyed working together!

Kerry Jerseys

Thanks to the Parents’ Association for arranging for the players to sign the jerseys. Congratulations to the winners of the signed Kerry Jerseys!  Big smiles all round. They can wear them this weekend to support the Kerry men and Kerry ladies. Good luck to both teams!

The Patrick Curtin Annual Memorial Tournament

There was great excitement at the Patrick Curtin Memorial Tournament at Moyvane G.A.A. pitch recently where the yellow bibs took on the red bibs.  Both teams showed great grit, determination and skill with the yellow bibs taking the title on the day!  Patrick was a fantastic player for Moyvane and Kerrry.  He is a role model for all our children and we keep his memory alive through this annual tournament.

A huge thank you to Patrick’s family who attended the tournament and presented the trophy and medals to the winners.  We would also like to acknowledge and thank Vincent Murphy, Castleisland who sponsored the medals. Thanks to referee/teacher Mr. McMahon, Mrs. Curtin and all involved in organising this annual tournament.
