Happy Mother’s Day to all the Mums’
Happy Mother’s Day to all the Mums’
On 9th February Murhur N.S. celebrated Shrove Tuesday. We made pancake batter with a few helpers. Children measured the ingredients – whisked and stirred the batter. Mrs. Quill fried a few. The smell was amazing! Caroline and Mary Ita outdid themselves with 3 pancakes for each child. All children donated to the Stack Brothers Soccer Wheelchair Fund.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day! So the children in Mrs. Quill’s room decided to bring their breakfast to school. Imagine that! We had cereal, toast, fruit and yogurt. Yum, Yum. Eating healthy early in the morning helps us concentrate for longer. That and our healthy lunches really help fuel our bodies for our days work and of course our O.T. run!!

The Proclamation was read by Sgt. McGarry who spoke briefly on the origin of the state and the protocols for respecting the flag. Boys and girls gearing up for the ‘Big Game’
Children celebrating the start of the New School Year. Lucy, one of our new Junior Infants, holds a seed in a pot – a seed that will grow – representing the children as they too grow and blossom over the coming school year. Cian holds an empty white page, representing the young mind that each day develops and grows both intellectually and spiritually. The Celtic cross crest on the school uniform jumper reminds us of the long tradition of Christianity in our area. The three candles represent the children in each classroom. May the light of the candles and the warmth of the flame fill our hearts with the light and the warmth of God’s love during the coming school year.
