We had a visit from two ‘pretty’ Halloween witches who announced the winners of the Development Festival Art Competition.

Congratulations to 6th Class who graduated on Thursday 26th June. There was a special mass in the church celebrated by Fr. John and the Parents’ Council provided refreshments in the school afterwards.

Writers’ Week Winner

Congratulations to Rachel O’Connor in 6th Class who won a prize for her poem ‘In Praise of Winter’ in the Under-14 Poetry Competition during Writers’ Week.

Past Pupil Achievements – 2014

Past pupils of Murhur N.S. Moyvane who recently received Achievement Awards in their secondary school.  Kellie Sheehy received the Female Student of the year Award for 2014.  Rachel Fitzgerald received the Artist of the year Award 2014 and Joe Coulson received the Male Sportsperson of the year Award 2014.  All of the above attended the Comprehensive School  Tarbert.  Kevin Hudson received the Principal’s Award 2014 in St. Michael’s College  Listowel.  Well done to all students.

 

Spring Clean-up 2014

Children took part in the National Spring Clean-up in April.  They went litter picking around the school, church grounds, community centre, sportsfield and woodway.  Kerry Co. Council provided bags/gloves and also collected the waste when the clean-up was completed. This is part of the Green School’s Project is the school.

First Holy Communion 2014

Children in 2nd Class received their First Holy Communion on Saturday 31st May.  We were blessed with a beautiful sunny day. The Parents’ Council served refreshments at the school after the ceremony.  A big thank you to all involved!

Ssssssssshhhhh!!  It’s time for U.S.S.R. -‘ Uninterrupted Sustained Silent Reading’. We enjoy choosing a book from the Mobile Library and reading during the week. Can you spot our bookmarks?

We love finding a new partner each day.  We read a line, while our partner listens and then it is their turn!

Our First Holy Communion Class

Children are reading about the Sacrament of Confession and Reconciliation.

The children read the story of The Lost Sheep.  They learn how we are like the sheep and Jesus is like our shepherd.  Jesus loves us and takes care of us.

 

Confirmation 2014

The children from Moyvane N.S. and Knockanure N.S. were confirmed by Bishop Ray Browne in the Church of the Assumption, Moyvane on Wednesday 2nd of April 2014.

Congratulations to Maeve Ahern of Moyvane N.S. who was awarded 1st prize in the Kerry Final of INTO – District 13 Handwriting Competition 2014. Maeve is in Senior Infants.

Christmas holidays on Friday 20th December. Santa visited Junior, Senior, 1st, 2nd  and 3rd classes.  Senior classes had a party in their classroom. Fun Day had by all.

Remembrance Tree

The pupils of 1st 2nd and 3rd class recently displayed a Remembrance  Tree in their classroom. They hung the names of family members (grandparents, relatives or friends who have died on the tree.  Some prayers were said and the children

Run/Walk Fundraiser Update
