Defibrillator

The staff, pupils and parents of Murhur N.S. are very grateful to the Moloney family who donated a defibrillator and cabinet to us.  The legacy of John Moloney will live on in our school, not only through his grandson Jack, but also now through this life-saving equipment which we are eternally grateful for.  It is available for the school and wider community of Moyvane Village.  We would like to thank Marian, Ian and of course Jack for representing John today.

Graduation Class 2021

We celebrated our 6th class Graduation on Wednesday 23rd June.  It is a sad time as we say goodbye, but an exciting and happy time for the children as they move on to the next chapter in their lives when they start in secondary school in September. Fr. Kevin gave them a special blessing and wished them happiness and success in the future. The graduating class buried a Time Capsule which will be opened in 10 years! They were presented with a Graduation Certificate, a DVD and our Parents’ Association had a beautiful cake to mark the occasion.  Fr. Kevin recently celebrated 40 years in the Priesthood. To mark the occasion, John O’Sullivan, Chairperson of the Board of Management presented him with a beautifully crafted Pen Set made by past pupil Donnchadha O’Connor, Kilbaha.  We wish the Graduation Class of 2021 success, health and happiness in the future.

Road Safety

All pupils had a Road Safety lesson courtesy of the Road Safety Authority (RSA) this morning. It was a very informative webinar.  It is so important to remind us all to be safe on the roads while walking, cycling and being a passenger in a vehicle.  Be safe, be seen, wear your helmet and always wear your seat belt.

Water Safety

A huge thank you to Rochelle O’Riordan, Water Safety Ireland instructor for her very informative lesson on Water Safety. She explained to the children all about safety/warning flags, ring buoys, rescue tubes, voice rescue and reaching rescue etc. The Senior room pupils were shown CPR and how an AED (Defibrillator) is used.  We urge all our pupils to take great care in the water this summer.
