Junior/Senior Infant School Tour

Infants set off bright and early in John Flaherty’s bus on Friday 14th June on their school tour. They visited Streamside Stables where proprietor Tracey Quinn along with her team gave a very warm welcome to the children. After being kitted out with all the necessary gear they had a little ride on the horses and learned all about caring for them!

After their visit to the stables they boarded the bus again and headed for The Fairy Trail in Tarbert. This was lots of fun for all including Mrs. Quill and Martina!

Afterwards they had lunch at the Playground in Moyvane and had a little time to play also. Overall they had a wonderful day out!

Active School Week

We had a beautiful sunny morning to  start our ‘Active School Week’. We took a brisk walk through our new school walk-way. We stopped off at the playground for a short while. Then back to school where some children went for a swimming lesson and others were coached in the skill of hurling. Huge thanks to Ian Mc Carthy for coming in and doing a number of drills with the hurleys, sliotars and tyres.

First Holy Communion 2019

Children of 2nd class made their First Holy Communion on Saturday 25th May. The girls were beautiful and the boys looked very dapper in their trendy suits! Fr. Kevin celebrated the mass with great aplomb as he engaged with the children and made it a very personal experience for all of them. The children did readings, prayers of the faithful and sang confidently as they were well prepared by their teacher Mr. Galvin. The choir under the guidance of Sarah Mulvihill sang beautifully.

A special word of thanks to Noreen and Jackie who helped prepare the church for the celebration – looking splendid as usual!

Last, but not least a big thank-you to the Parents’ Association for the tea and tasty treats for all.
