The pupils of 1st 2nd and 3rd class recently displayed a Remembrance Tree in their classroom. They hung the names of family members (grandparents, relatives or friends who have died on the tree. Some prayers were said and the children
sang hymns in their memory.
Murhur National School Moyvane held a Run/Walk fundraiser on Sunday 29th September for the development of a ‘school’ football pitch. The day was a great success. Many thanks to all who sponsored, supported and attended. More details later.
We are proud to be laying out a football pitch at the back of the school – a facility that will be enjoyed by all our pupils. To help defray the cost of preparing the pitch, a benefit 5K, 10K Walk/Run will be held in Moyvane on Sunday, September 29th. Registration will be at 12 noon in Moyvane and the entry fee is €10 per participant.
Everybody is welcome to participate – from the slowest walker to the fastest runner. After the event refreshments and music will be provided in the village. In the year of the gathering, why not have a community gathering to support your local school! So come along to run or walk, To jog or race or just to talk, You might even win a prize, A gathering for all our girls and boys!

We had a very successful fundraiser in the GAA field last Sunday and we would like to thank all who supported the Fun Day – those who came along on the day and also the sponsors. Mílle Buíochas do gach duine.
Also a big thank you to the Marian Hall Committee for the treats sent to the school children on the day of the holidays. Much appreciated.
The Graduation ceremony took place on Thursday, 27th of June.

Aidan Enright received the Male Sports Person of the year Award 2013
Ashlea Sheehy received Female Student of the year Award and also Senior Girls GAA Award.
Martin Stack received the Male Student of the year Award 2013
Another pupil from the 2008 Class was Donnchadha O’Connor from Kilbaha. Donnchadha is a wood-turner, who creates uniquely beautiful, hand-turned pens in a variety of styles and from a selection of locally sourced sustainably managed native timbers. Timbers used include Bog Oak, Yew, Hawthorn and Blackthorn.
